How this is different

A tip pays for a moment. A locked reward pays for a result.

Superchats, tips and donations all work the same way: someone sends money, it's spent, and nothing about it is tied to what happens next. Here, a supporter puts a reward on a specific number by a specific date. Money only moves when that number is verified as hit.

What the money buysTips: A moment on screen — a highlighted message that scrolls away.Covalt Social: A named result: the number, the platform and the date it has to land by.
If nothing happensTips: The money is gone either way.Covalt Social: Nothing moves. The supporter's amount comes back to them in full.
Typical amountTips: Small, impulsive, one person at a time.Covalt Social: Many supporters stack onto one reward, so a single payout is far larger.
What the audience doesTips: Watches.Covalt Social: Shares — because their money rides on the number going up.
What it costs the creatorTips: A platform cut on every single tip — often up to 30%.Covalt Social: 5% all in, and only when the milestone is hit. No outcome, no fee.
Who decides it happenedTips: Nobody needs to — there's nothing to check.Covalt Social: The public counter, read on a timed schedule and timestamped.

What £100 of support is actually worth

Superchat / tip

£0

reaches the creator · up to 30% taken

The platform's cut comes off every message, whatever happens next.

Locked reward on Covalt Social

£0

reaches the creator · 5% all in, on success

5% is the whole cost, charged only when the milestone is verified. Miss it and the supporter is refunded in full.

Illustration based on a £100 example. Our 5% is creator-side with a £2.50 minimum equivalent — supporters are never surcharged. Platform tip cuts vary by service and country.

What a creator actually gets out of it

Bigger single payments

One goal collects from a whole audience instead of a trickle of separate tips.

A reason for people to share

Supporters want the number to climb, so they push the post for you. That's reach you didn't pay for.

Paid for the work you were doing anyway

You set the milestone you were already chasing. Hitting it just now comes with money attached.

Nothing to lose by trying

Free to set up. If you miss the number, supporters get their money back and you're no worse off.

Money only moves when the milestone is hit. No outcome. No fee.

Set the number you're already chasing and let your community put a reward on it.

Questions, answered

How is a milestone verified?+

YouTube, Twitch and TikTok are verified at launch — Covalt reads the public number on a timed schedule and timestamps every reading (TikTok needs the creator to link their account first). Instagram and X are coming soon and can't take a funded challenge yet. Every progress number on the site says whether it came from an automated or a manual check.

What if the target isn't hit?+

Nothing moves. Your locked amount stays yours the whole time and is returned to you in full the moment the deadline passes.

How refunds work+

No outcome, no fee. If the milestone isn't reached, the full amount is sent straight back to you — no waiting, no forms.

How creators get paid+

The second the verified counter crosses the line, the reward is released. The creator claims it on the spot with a one-time PIN.

What does it cost?+

5% all in, creator-side, with a £2.50 minimum equivalent, and only when the milestone is hit. Supporters are never surcharged. No listing fee, no monthly fee, nothing added on top. Miss the target and there's no charge at all.
